The BBN Audio Indexing System creates rich transcriptions of speech from recorded audio files using state-of-the-art speech recognition. To improve comprehension and navigation, the transcripts are enriched by highlighting the names of people, locations, and organizations, and by separating the speakers in the audio. Each word in the transcript is indexed to its location in the audio file enabling precisely positioned retrieval and playback of the audio.
